CAIRO: Two arrival flights reached Egypt Tuesday morning carrying a total of 514 Egyptians fleeing from Libya, for a total of 1,743 who have arrived through Egyptian airports, Youm7 reported.

The Sallum crossing border director Mohamed Metwally, announced Monday that the total number of the arrivals through the crossing road reached 15,000. Metwally added in his statements reported by Youm7, that at least 50 percent from the arrivals had entered Libya illegally.

According to Youm7, talks are continuing between the Foreign Ministry and Tunisian and Libyan counterparts to assist civilians willing to return to Egypt.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi said during his speech Feb. 16, shortly after the Islamic State group released a video that showed 21 Egyptian being beheaded on a Libyan beach,  that Egypt has the right to respond with “the adequate means” to any provocation, and the next morning he launched airstrikes against alleged IS targets in the Libyan cities of Sirte and Derna.
