CAIRO: Five civilians were killed and 15 injured in two separate explosions and fires Sunday night in Aswan and Gharbia governorates, Youm7 reported.
In Aswan, a bomb exploded near the police station killing two, and injured 11 others including 4 children. The bomb was reported to be targeting police forces at the station.
Using about 7 ambulances, those injured were referred to a nearby hospital , and an investigation was opened to determine those responsible.
Aswan governor Mostafa Yousry told Youm7 Sunday night that a number of Aswan residences went to the hospital to donate blood needed for the victims.
In Gharbia, a blaze broke out in a brick factory, due to a LPG cylinder explosion in the diesel oil room. Three charred bodies were found inside factory after controlling the fire, using about 20 fire engines. Four others were injured according to Youm7.
An investigation was opened into the circumstances of the fire and explosion of the factory.
