CAIRO: Two bombs went off in Mataria Tuesday morning, Youm7 reported.
No one was injured in the explosions, although surrounding buildings and shops sustained damage, including a major communication company.
Civilian security forces arrived the location shortly after the explosion was heard, and monitored the surrounding areas.
Several other explosions took place from Monday night into Tuesday morning in other separate places including Nozha, Maadi and Al-Tagamoa el-Khames.
In Maadi, it was reported that an explosion took place after bombs were planted in a police car near the Zahraa Al-Maadi police station. Three other cars were damaged including a civilian one, but no injuries were reported.
Another car near the American school in Maadi was reported to be wired to an explosive, and residents called on security forces to defuse it.
A remotely detonated bomb was reported to be the cause of an explosion Monday night near the Nozha police station, and it damaged 3 cars.
Traffic was halted Tuesday morning due to a number of burning car tires on the 26 July Axis between 6 October and Giza.
