CAIRO: The Cassation Court rejected a challenge filed by two officers accused of the 2010 manslaughter of Khaled Said Wednesday, marking the last step in the high-profile case, Youm7 reported.
The 10-year prison term of officers Mahmoud Salah and Awad Ismail was upheld. Alexandria Criminal Court issued the sentence in March 2014.
Said was killed in June 2010 by the two policemen of the Sidi Gaber Police station in Alexandria. Said became a symbol of police brutality and his case is considered an icon of the January 25 Revolution months later in 2011.
