CAIRO: Japan will be sending a high-level delegation to the Egypt Economic Development Summit, Japan’s Ambassador to Egypt Takehiro Kagawa told Youm7 via email Tuesday.
“I believe that the conference will be a very important opportunity where Japanese companies can learn about new business opportunities in Egypt and get to know new business partners. I encourage Japanese companies to actively participate in the conference,” he said.
The ambassador noted that Japan donated 500 million to assist Egypt’s agricultural, electricity, and transportation sectors in the six months after President Sisi took office.
Japanese businesses “have strong confidence in Egypt’s economic growth potential, which is based on its high population, geopolitical advantage, natural and tourism resources and industrial diversification,” said the ambassador, adding that there was particular interest in the Suez Canal Development Project.
The conference, scheduled to begin Friday, will host at least 80 foreign delegations, the Foreign Ministry announced last week.
