CAIRO: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi was invited to participate in the April Asian-African Summit by Abdul Rahman Shihab, Special Envoy of the President of Indonesia to the Middle East and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation invited, a presidential statement announced Saturday.

The presidential statement added that Shihab met with Sisi along with his Foreign Minister Sameh Shokry Saturday in Cairo, and Shihab told Sisi that his government is looking forward for an official visit to Indonesia, as both countries have long-time relations in different fields.

He also congratulated Sisi for the completion of the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC), assuring that his country is interested in all of the investment opportunities in Egypt, especially after amendments to the investment law.

Minister of Investment Ashraf Salman said in February that the law would provide many incentives that could boost investment, especially in remote areas like some investment-deprived Upper Egypt governorates.
