CAIRO: Former President of the Football Association Samir Zaher arrived to Cairo on Saturday after nearly a year-long medical trip to London. Zaher suffered from various ailments that required surgery.
Zaher resigned from the presidency of the Association after the Port Said Stadium massacre that claimed the lives of 72, and has since stayed away from sports.
The Egyptian national team won the African Cup of Nations four times, in 1998, 2006, 2008 and 2010, during Zaher’s tenure as president.
Zaher was welcomed at the Cairo International airport by many football stars and members of the Association.
