CAIRO:  Egypt will see high temperatures starting Wednesday, and is forecast to experience a peak on Friday of 37°C (98°F,) and then the temperature is expected to make a sudden drop Saturday by 10 to 12 °C degrees, said the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) Wednesday.

The EMA chairperson Ahmed Abdel-Aal stated the change of the weather is seasonal during the spring in Egypt, adding that a Khamsin wind is expected to occur during the high temperature period. A Khamsin is a hot, dry and sandy wind that lasts between 4 and 6 hours.

Following Khamsin winds, the temperature generally drops by 12 to 15 decrees, he noted.
