CAIRO: Bomb squad detonated three bombs in Cairo’s northern district of Nasr City, Youm7 reported Friday.

The bombs were placed in the convoy path of Cairo security chief, who was set to inspect a second hand vehicle market in the district Friday.

The forces were combing the area in preparation to the visit when they found three explosive devices and started dealing with them.

A security cordon was imposed around the area until the bombs were detonated safely.

Another bomb was detonated Friday after being planted outside a police station in Upper Egypt’s governorate of Sohag.

Explosions targeting police facilities became part of the daily violence reported in Egypt’s capital and other governorates, and witnessing escalated levels especially after the ouster of the President Mohamed Morsi in July 3, 2013.

Some of the bombs have been discovered and safely detonated while others have exploded leaving damages and causalities, including civilians.

Public installations, restaurants, mobile operators and power towers have been targeted by unidentified assailants unless a group claims its responsibility.
