CAIRO: The Meteorological Authority expects heavy rain Sunday ranging from Cairo and Upper Egypt, Youm7 reported Saturday.
Ali Qotb, Spokesperson for the Meteorological Authority, advised citizens not to wear light clothes until April 20, especially during night hours, in which the temperature degrees are expected to decline dramatically.
In statements to Youm7, he also advised people to be cautious while driving on the Desert Road Saturday and Sunday, because the wind will may pick up dust and affect visibility.
The authority predicted temperature degrees in Cairo to be 19C (66 F) during the day and as low as 11C (51 F) at night.
Saturday witnessed a cool weather snap accompanied with rains in Cairo and northern coasts, after a week that saw temperatures as high as 38 C (100 F.)
Bad weather and rains hit Cairo
The Ministry of Irrigation also raised a state of emergency in governorates that may face the risk of floods, as announced by the meteorological authority.
