CAIRO: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi alongside Minister of Defense Sedki Sobhi and senior military leaders have visited the military academy early Friday, where they had breakfast with the cadets, military spokesperson Mohamed Samir said in a statement.
Sisi praised “the outstanding performance” of the cadets and also the role of the military and police forces in countering the terrorism, according to the statement.
Sisi’s visit came after only 48 hours after the Kafr el-Sheikh blast that killed 2 cadets and injured 5 others.
The president talked about the Yemeni turmoil, stressing on that Egypt support the political solution.
He added that only air and naval forces were sent to Yemen to participate in Operation Resolute Storm and no ground forces were sent. He asserted that if any other forces are deployed, an announcement will be made, reported Youm7.
Yemen turmoil started on September 2014 when the Houthis overran The Yemeni capital, Sanaa. And on March 25, Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies started Operation resolute Storm and bombarded Houthis position through airstrike
