CAIRO: An Egyptian delegation headed by Minister of Manpower Nahed Ashry traveled to Kuwait Saturday to take part in the 42nd session of the General Conference of the Arab Labor Organization (ALO) Conference, Youm7 reported.
Delegations of governmental officials, trade unions, employers and employees from across the Arab world alongside an array of Arab and international businessmen and experts in socio-economic development are scheduled to attend the conference, which will run until April25.
The attendees will debate several issues including the report of the AOL Director General Ahmed Lukman, report of technical committee on the ALO activities in 2014 and report on the progress in the implementation of the “Arab Decade of Employment” initiative, according to Youm7.
The participants are also to elect a new Director General of the AOL for a new four-year term 2015-2019. Former Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity Ahmed Boraie and Kuwait’s Fayez al-Mutairi are among the five candidates nominated for the post.
Egypt’s delegation to the conference includes business owners and representatives of the Federation of Egyptian Industries, chambers of commerce and the Egyptian Trade Union Federation.
