CAIRO: The body of a first-year university student who drowned last week in the sea in a Port Said beach was found by residents on a shore in North Sinai Friday.
Ahmed Mohsen went missing Sunday during a trip organized by Helwan University to Port Said City, in northeast Egypt. His classmates sent water rescue teams to look for him, but no traces were found, and students at the university called on the university president Yasser Sakr to interfere and aid in the search.
The body was transferred to a hospital after residents of El-Roman village discovered it. His colleagues said that Mohsen’s relatives recognized the body Friday night, and held his funeral Saturday.
