CAIRO: A 13-kilogram (28.6 lb) tumor has been extracted from an elderly woman’s right ovary in Asyut, Upper Egypt, Tuesday, Youm7 reported Tuesday.

The woman, 65, was suffering from swelling in her abdomen, indigestion, chronic constipation, difficulty in breathing and insomnia. After conducting medical tests to determine the type of the tumor, the medical team of Asyut University’s Institute of Oncology decided to undergo the operation.

Both her ovaries and tumor were extracted without any complications, and she is now leading her daily life as normal, according to Dr. Hussein Fakhry al-Beheiry, a surgical oncology expert at the Institute of Oncology.
