CAIRO: The chemical industries sector contributed $4 billion in exports, as well as $30 billion to national income in 2013-2014, said Ahmed Kamal, the Executive Director of Environmental Compliance Office and Sustainable Development.
“Chemical Industries is a leader industrial sector,” he added Thursday at a 2-day workshop organized by the Chemical Industries Chamber in Egypt, Youm7 reported.
Kamal mentioned that the ECO SD aims at building capacities and enhancing management systems in the Egyptian chemical industries sector. He stressed the importance of exchanging international expertise in the field.
The 2-day workshop, from April 20 to 22 2015, was organized by the Chemical Industries Chamber and the ECO SD, with the cooperation of the Ministry of Environmental Affairs. Representatives of 15 governmental, environmental and industrial, institutions attended the workshop.
The ECO SD was established in 2012 as a business unit at the Federation of Egyptian Industries by the Egyptian government. It provides premium services for the Egyptian private industrial sector in the field of sustainable development.
