CAIRO: Fire broke out at vinegar factory near the Cairo-Alexandria agriculture road Saturday morning, preventing the flow of traffic on both ways of the road, Youm7 reported.
Security forces headed to the factory, and fire engines extinguished the fire before it spread to adjacent houses and factories.
Magdy Awad, the head of Gharbia Ambulance department, said that the explosion resulted in 24 injuries from among security forces. Thirteen of the injured were carried to the Minshawy public hospital.
Eye witnesses told Youm7 that explosions were massive that vinegar barrels were seen flying 50 meters in the air.
