CAIRO: The third line of Cairo metro resumed service Wednesday after a three-day suspension due to a train crash.

A train in the third line Attaba-Heliopolis crashed into a barrier Sunday as there were no working brakes, injuring a metro driver injured and stopping metro movement on the line.

Resumed 3rd line service:

The movement resumed after the operating company conducted tests in Abbassia station where the incident occurred, Youm7 reported.

On Monday, a number of metro workers went on strike against the operating authority, and called for improved maintenance in the metro cars for their safety following the incident.
