CAIRO: A man identified as Ismail, 37, killed his uncle, two cousins, their mother and their friend late Monday after his relatives won a lawsuit over an inherited land dispute, Youm7 reported.

His second uncle and another cousin were injured in Ismail’s machinegun attack in the Delta city of Toukh in Qalyubia governorate.

The police were deployed in the area after the murders of the uncle, 55, his wife, 45, and his two sons, 35 and 32, and their friend, 28. Ismail, however, had already escaped. The heavy security aimed to prevent any potential retaliation from within the family.

The two injured are being treated at a hospital, and the slain victims have been buried per a prosecution order. Prosecutors have seized the bullet cases, as Ismail ran away with his gun.
