CAIRO: President Abdel-Fatah al-Sisi is to address the nation through a televised speech Tuesday at 7 p.m. local time over international and domestic issues, Youm7 reported.
The speech comes in less than a month before his first anniversary of inauguration as a president on June 8, 2014.
According to Al-Ahram, Sisi is scheduled to tackle several current issues including the security situation, healthcare system, the country’s efforts to improve education, the recent hike in prices of basic commodities and the frequent power cuts across Egypt.
The speech comes days after a poll carried out by the Egyptian Center for Public Opinion Research (Baseera) showing that 98 percent of the Egyptians are satisfied with Sisi’s performance in the first 10 months of his tenure.
Sisi has been addressing the nation on a regular monthly basis since March.
Sisi, Egypt’s ex-army chief, was officially sworn in on June 8, 2014 nearly a year after he ousted his predecessor Islamist President Mohamed Morsi following a mass protest against his rule.
