Telecom Egypt’s net profits jump 10% in Q1

CAIRO: Telecom Egypt’s (TE) net profits soared 9.9 percent to 604 million EGP ($79.13 million) in the first quarter of 2015, it said in a statement to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) Wednesday.

The 80 percent state-owned fixed line monopoly posted consolidated gross profits,  before tax, interests and depreciation, of some 694 million EGP, while consolidated revenues hiked to 2.761 billion EGP, up from 2.564 billion EGP in the same period a year earlier.

In 2014, TE posted 2.03 billion EGP in net profits, down from 2.96 billion EGP in 2013.
