Israeli tourist arrested in Sinai over smoking marijuana

CAIRO: The Egyptian Tourism and Antiquities Police have reported that security forces in the southern Sinai’s city of Taba have arrested an Israeli tourist Saturday over the possession of drugs, Youm7 reported.

Shalom Ben Dal, 46, was arrested when policemen saw him smoking a “rolled marijuana cigarette” while passing through the metal detector gate of the resort where he stays, according to the tourism police dept.

Ben Dal, who refused to be inspected by the policemen, was detained at the resort following verbal altercations with the security personnel.

Head of South Sinai investigation authority arrived to the resort and a routine search of his belongings revealed eight joints.

A police report was filed and Ben Dal was referred to investigations.
