CAIRO: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, arrived in Algeria in a 2-day visit to discuss the bilateral relations and regional and international issues with his Algerian counterpart, Youm7 reported Saturday.

Shoukry is to held talks with the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramtane Lamamra about the ways to develop the bilateral relations politically, economically and commercially.

“Situation in the region and countering threats Arab people and security face are of the top issues to be discussed during Shoukry’s visit to Algeria,” said spokesperson of Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdel Atty.

Egyptian and Algerian officials have exchanged visits in the past year, consolidating relations after they were brought together by aligned efforts to address the threats posed by the inflammatory conditions in Libya.

In November, 16 agreements were signed between Egypt and Algeria to create mixed contracting companies, natural gas and oil exploration, and other services.
