CAIRO: Two people burned to death in a huge fire that broke out Sunday in a residential building on Mohy el-Din Abu el-Ezz St. in Cairo’s Dokki district, Youm7 reported.
It took 10 fire trucks 15 minutes to put out the fire, after the flames started to extend several meters above the building. The fire has left the majority of the building contents destroyed.
The rest of the building residents have been evacuated by the help of civil protection forces, who transferred the two dead bodies to a hospital.
The causes of the fire are yet to be ascertained; a probe has been opened into the incident to check suspicions the fire was caused due to short circuits.
