4 German tourists injured in bus crash near Hurghada

CAIRO: Seven people, including four German tourists were injured Wednesday evening in a bus crash in Ain Sokhna-Hurghada road, Youm7 reported.

The injured were transferred to Suez General Hospital; injuries ranged from cuts, bruises and fractures, according to a medical source at the hospital.

A German tourist, suffering double fracture, was escorted to the Salam International Hospital in Maadi.

A total of 14,403 road accidents took place in Egypt in 2014, 7.5 percent less than in 2013, according to an April report by Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS.)

The report said that an average of 17 persons died per day in road accidents in Egypt in 2014.

According to the report, “human error caused 59.2 percent of all 2014 road accidents, while 19.3 percent were caused by technical failure.”
