CAIRO: A citizen was killed by mistake after security forces opened a barrage of fire during a hunt for two wanted defendants in Giza Thursday, Youm7 reported.
Mahmoud Saleh, a father of a young girl, was at the fire exchange site by coincidence when a sergeant shot him by mistake, according to Saleh’s uncle.
Ahmed el-Kahlway, the sergeant was arrested and referred to prosecution for investigations over the accident, according to Al-Shorouq Newspaper.
A security source told Youm7 that the two chased defendants managed to escape through nearby farms.
