CAIRO: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) extended its losing streak at the close of Sunday’s session, as sell-offs continued for a fifth straight session.
The benchmark index EGX30 retreated 1.45 percent to end at 8,782 points, down from 8,912 points on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the small and mid-cap index EGX70 dropped 1.76 percent to end at 469.7 points, compared to 478.1 points in its last session. The broader index EGX100 also declined 1.52 percent, registering 985.7 points.
Market capitalization shed around 5.4 billion EGP ($707.58 million,) totaling 495.7 billion EGP, down from 501.1 billion EGP Thursday.
