CAIRO: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) extended its bearish performance at the close of Monday’s session, hurt by sell-offs led by retailers and foreign institutions.
The benchmark index EGX30 lost 0.43 percent to end at 8,745 points, down from 8,782 points on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the small and mid-cap index EGX70 retreated 0.78 percent to end at 466 points, compared to 469.7 points in its last session. The broader index EGX100 also declined 0.54 percent, registering 980.4 points.
Market capitalization lost around 200 million EGP ($26.21 million,) totaling 495.5 billion EGP, down from 495.7 billion EGP Sunday.
