Aligned Venus, Jupiter, Ramadan crescent seen in Cairo sky Saturday

CAIRO: The crescent moon of Ramadan, Jupiter and Venus were visible to the naked eye in Cairo’s sky Saturday night, Youm7 reported.

“Ramadan crescent, Jupiter and Venus; the brightest planet have appeared relatively close to each other forming a remarkable triangle on the western section of Cairo’s sky,” Ashraf Tadros of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics Research was quoted by Youm7.

The astronomical event took place Saturday night right after sunset and lasted till around 09:30 pm, Tadros said, adding that Venus and Jupiter are expected to pass just one third of a degree from each other On June 30.
