CAIRO: A hash tag, reportedly belongs to an Egyptian actress, was trending on Twitter Wednesday after she died Wednesday evening at the age of 37.
Myrna el-Mohandes died of severe low white blood cell count at the International Medical Center after severe bleeding in the lungs.
In 2000, el-Mohandes had gone colon resection surgery and also extirpation of parts of her stomach. She quit acting and wore the Islamic veil after a series of surgeries, before taking it off and resuming her acting career.
El-Mohandes began her career when she was nine by appearing in TV commercial ads. According to Al-Itthad newspaper, her personal life was unstable, as her mother was arrested on charges of murdering her husband, and her brother was arrested for drug trafficking,
Celebrities and Twitter users mourned the young actress, saying she was “kindhearted.”
