ISLAMABAD: A top official says an anti-Taliban provincial minister is among 10 people killed in a suicide attack in eastern Pakistan.
Saeed Elahi says the suicide bomber struck Sunday at the residence of provincial home minister Shuja Khanzada, whose body could be seen in the rubble of the collapsed building in his hometown of Shadi Khan in Attock district, some 80 kilometers (50 miles) northwest of the capital, Islamabad. At least 10 others were wounded.
The Punjab provincial head of Pakistan’s National Action Plan against terrorism, Khanzada took a bold public stance against the Taliban and Islamic militancy.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
