CAIRO: Cairo University has been ranked 409 in the Chinese Classification of 2015, according to a report issued by the Institute of Higher Education of the University of Shanghai Jiao Tong issued Aug. 15.
Cairo University, established in 1908, is currently placed within the top 10 universities in the Arab region, according to annual publication of university rankings by British Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) company.
President of Cairo University Jaber Al Nassar said, “The university’s retaining its place within the best 500 universities in the world for the fifth time in a row is due to the faculty members’ efforts in improving the standards leading to the presence in the list of development the best universities in the world rankings,” according to Cairo University’s website.
“The increase of the number and quality of the published scientific research as well as the development of academic performance level and graduate level plays a significant role in this success,” Al Nassar added.
Cairo University is among the best schools for chemistry, civil engineering, computer science, electrical & electronic engineering, mathematics, mechanical engineering, medicine and pharmacy and pharmacology, according to QS rankings.
