CAIRO: Egypt’s Oriental Weavers has been referred to the public prosecutor for “monopolistic practices”, the Egyptian Competition Authority said in a statement on Tuesday.

“Oriental Weavers agreed with several distributors not to distribute products made by any company that it competes with,” the statement said.

If a court rules against the company, it faces a fine of up to 300 million Egyptian pounds ($38.31 million), the authority said.
