CAIRO: A fire that broke out in a freight train loaded with diesel in Upper Egypt’s governorate Minya has been controlled and put out, Youm7 reported Thursday.

The middle vehicle in the train, coming from Sohag heading to Asyut governorate, caught fire and was shortly extinguished by the help of civil protection forces.

A security source told Youm7 that the fire was controlled before expanding to other diesel vehicles; the train has continued its trip.
