Bomb thrown at shop in Upper Egypt’s Qena; fire left no casualties

CAIRO: A fire that broke out in a shop in the center of Upper Egypt’s city of Qena has been controlled; eyewitnesses said bombs ignited the blaze, Youm7 reported Wednesday.

The fire left no casualties but caused minor damage to the shop façade. Civil protection forces managed to control the fire before it spread to adjacent shops.

Residents reported seeing a man throwing two bombs at the shop, which was targeted 10 days ago by another IED, which bomb squad managed to detonate without damages.

Early this morning, Youm7 has received via its Whatsapp service a video for the fire from reader Mohamed el-Zomor.
