CAIRO: Egypt’s Customer Protection Agency ordered a suspension of the production of apple juice by the Beyti Company, after receiving complaints about a change in the taste, Youm7 reported Saturday.
Head of CPA Atef Yacoub stated that the agency noticed news and warnings on social media platforms about the change of taste of Tropicana Beyti apple juice.
He added that the agency discovered that the juice-producing company had been clandestinely recalling its product since Aug. 23.
Investigation committee was immediately formed, moved to the company’s headquarters in Beheira governorate and took samples from the juice, which proved to have a change in taste.
International company for Agriculture Production Beyti was referred to prosecution for the company’s non-compliance to the CPA law and for not notifying the CPA once it began its recall.
