CairoComix festival kicks off Sept. 28- Oct 3

CAIRO: Cairo’s first comic festival kicks off Monday, Sept. 28 and will last until Oct. 3, hosting a number of prominent cartoonists and graphic novelists, and will also award prizes for best press cartoons, comic strip, best printed comic short story, best graphic novel, and others.

The festival , founded by Egyptian cartoonists Shennawy, Magdy ElShafee, and Twins Cartoon, is sponsored by the French Institute in Cairo, and aims to spotlight the growing community of cartoonists in the Arab world.
