CAIRO: Prime Minister Sherif Ismail announced in a news conference Wednesday that the Cabinet will appoint deputies for the newly merged ministries, Youm7 reported.

Sixteen new ministers were sworn in Sept. 19 in a Cabinet reshuffle, in which four portfolios consisted of two merged ministries: Health with Housing, Education with Technical Education, Housing with Urban Societies and Higher Education with Scientific Research.

According to Ismail, the decision to merge the ministries guarantees efficiency and speed in performance.

Ismail also added that the Cabinet meeting Wednesday discussed means to attract investments.
