CAIRO: A Saudi woman and her Kuwaiti daughter were found killed and thrown into a well in Upper Egypt’s Samalout city of Minya, announced the Egyptian Ministry of Interior in a statement Saturday.
The two victims had been abducted by an Egyptian man, a farm owner, who convinced them to visit Cairo ostensibly to buy an apartment, the Ministry added, noting that the culprit killed them and duped their bodies into a 20-meter well.
Before being murdered, the woman, whose name was disclosed in the statement, sent a message to one of her relatives in Kuwait that she and her daughter were kidnapped in Samallout.
The investigation revealed that the victims left their home in Kuwait Sept. 27 to Cairo, where they lived in a hotel. They had 35,000 KWD (around $ 115,952) on their persons.
The woman told her relative that she deposited her money in an Egyptian bank to buy an apartment, according to Egyptian investigations.
