Morgan Freeman in Egypt for ‘Story of God’

CAIRO: Minister of Tourism Hisham Zazou will meet with famed U.S. actor Morgan Freeman, who is in Egypt for a documentary, at the pyramids in an effort to promote tourism, according to a Monday statement by the ministry.

In coordination with the Egyptian government, Freeman began shooting the “Story of God” documentary film for National Geographic in Cairo, including the areas of Hussein, Khan al-Khalili and Moez Street.

Freeman is yet to visit Saqqara, a large burial ground with several pyramids, Aswan, Luxor and Madinet Habu, where the Temple of Amun and Temple of Ramsis III are located. His five-day agenda also includes a Nile cruise.

Pictures of Freeman in Cairo’s street were met by Egyptian social media users with much excitement.
