CAIRO: Unstable weather conditions including a notable decrease in temperatures and heavy rains on the Sinai Peninsula will prevail from Monday through Thursday, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) announced.

Medium to heavy rainfall is expected in the areas of Lower Egypt, Sinai Peninsula, and the Northern Coast and Cairo with low rain on the western parts of the country,” spokesperson for the EMA Wahid Seoudy was quoted by Youm7 Sunday.

He added that on Monday the weather will be moderate in the morning, changing towards cold at night while in the extreme south, weather will be moderate during the day and very cold at night.

Last week, a wave of unstable weather accompanied by low temperatures and active winds and heavy rains has hit several parts of Egypt, particularly the Mediterranean city of Alexandria where at least seven people were killed after being electrocuted when a power cable of a tram fell in rain water flooding the streets, Youm7 reported.
