CAIRO: Egyptians consume 300,000 tons of fava beans every year, the Chamber of Commerce announced Sunday.

Fuul, a fava bean paste, and tammiya, fava flour dumplings are a staple Egyptian breakfast, and Cairenes inevitably pass a number of carts on their commutes around the city.
