CAIRO: Ismailia security directorate organized a Monday exhibition of 30 stolen cars after being recovered from a gang, Youm7 reported.
The 10-member gang allegedly perpetrated 42 incidents of carjacking outside hospitals and offices of state services in the Suez Canal governorate, according to Youm7. The 30 cars in the exhibition had been reported stolen.
After their arrest, officers collected the 42 vehicles from several cities, including Sharqia, Dakahlia, Damietta, Port Said and Obour; some features of the vehicles were changed after the robbery, Ismailia security director Ali al-Azzazy told Youm7.
Some stolen cars were returned to their owners after they showed up at the exhibition, which will be held until all owners receive their vehicles.
Top Interior Ministry officials in Ismailia attended the exhibition, which included many mini-trucks and a micro bus.
