CAIRO: An Egyptian fisherman has drowned and 2 others were injured after their small fishing yacht drowned off Alexandria’s harbor of Rosetta, Youm7 reported Wednesday.
“The yacht sank due to the rising sea waves at the entrance of the harbor,” head of the Fishermen’s Syndicate Ahmed Nassar said.
Three of the four fishermen onboard were rescued while the owner drowned, Nassar said, adding the two injured are in a serious condition. The body of the owner and the injured fishermen were transferred to the Rashid General Hospital, he added.
The fishermen are all from a village in Egypt’s Delta governorate of Kafr el-Sheikh governorate, he added.
