CAIRO: A delegation from the U.S. Transport Security Administration (TSA) reviewed safety procedures at Cairo Airport Tuesday, sources at the facility told Youm7.
The delegation inspected security measures pertaining to an Egypt Air flight heading to New York, the sources said.
They added that the team reviewed the search of passengers, their luggage, weighing the bags, monitoring passengers’ movement inside the airport as well as their belongings until they are loaded into the plane.
Several regional and international inspections at the airport have been conducted since a Russian plane was downed over Sinai Oct. 31, killing all passengers on board. Russia has banned Egypt Air flights into its territory.
Several international parties are investigating the plane crash. Russian news outlets reported Tuesday that a bomb detonated inside the plane, leading to the crash.
