CAIRO: Two police conscripts were killed and 15 were injured Wednesday in a lorry rollover in el-Saff town of Giza, Youm7 reported.
The lorry, which belongs to the Central Security Forces (CSF,) was on its way from Asyut in Upper Egypt to Cairo. Early reports indicate that the drivers’ hands slipped over the steering wheel, leading the vehicle to roll over on the road.
The victims have been transferred to a hospital.
Military conscription in Egypt is compulsory for males between 18 and 30 for up to three years. Those who have little education are often enrolled in the CSF, a large department of the Ministry of Interior, used to control riots and protests, and are usually the frontline of the police to counter any instability.
