CAIRO: A medical convoy of 14 Egyptian doctors arrived in the South Sudanese capital city of Juba Tuesday to assist in conducting multiple surgical operations for those who are in need, Al Ahram reported.

The Egyptian doctors were dispatched to Juba by the Egyptian Orthodox Church in line with a cooperation agreement signed between the two governments of Egypt and South Sudan in December 2013, head of the team Dr Sherif Isaac was quoted by Al Ahram.

“We are scheduled to carry out serious surgeries at several hospitals including the Juba Teaching Hospital. We will be in Juba for a week,” Sherif said, adding that the mission brought three tons of medicines and medical equipment for people in Juba.
