CAIRO: Civil Aviation Ministry approved a second flight every week from Egypt to Yemen, as the volume of Yemeni passengers require more trips, Youm7 reported Thursday.
The Yemeni airlines requested a third weekly flight between Cairo and Hadramout; flights heading to Cairo are largely full and those returning to Sanaa reach an occupancy of 80 percent, regional director of Yemeni airlines Sadeq Abdel Aziz said in press statements.
Egypt Air allowed one flight to Yemen every Sunday, and per the new decision another flight every Thursday will take off.
Abdel Aziz said that one of the main reasons behind the turnout is treatment at Egyptian hospitals.
A Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthi rebels in Yemen has launched military campaign since March.
