CAIRO:  The second phase of parliamentary elections kicks off Sunday in Egypt, after expats began their voting Saturday in embassies and consulates abroad.

Those voting in the second phase are those registered in the governorates of Cairo, Qalubia, Dakahlia, Menoufia, Gharbia, Kafr El-Sheikh, Sharqia, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai, and South Sinai.

As many as 5,554,678 out of 25,582,518 Egyptian eligible voters cast their ballots in 99 constituencies across the country in the first phase that began last October;  candidates of the “For the Love of Egypt” electoral list won all 60 seats designated for the winner-take-all party lists system.
