CAIRO: A Cairo-based school allegedly affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood has been seized by a Justice Ministry committee, an official source at the ministry told youm7 Sunday.
Assayeda Aeisha Language School is located in al-Nuzha district in upscale Heliopolis, said the source, who requested withholding his name because he is not allowed to speak to the media.
Some 89 schools allegedly affiliated with the Brotherhood in 16 governorates have been seized so far, according to the source.
There is also an ongoing assessment of school directors, the source said, adding that the ministry will dispense with the service of some of them and others will be closely monitored.
A committee formed by the Justice Ministry in 2013 to inventory and manage the Brotherhood assets reported the school to the ministry. The committee has confiscated many schools, stores and hospitals that belong to the group, designated “terrorist” in Egypt since December 2013.
