CAIRO: Candidates who were eliminated in the first round of the parliamentary election in Cairo have been given a time limit of 24 hours to remove banners and signs of their campaigns, Youm7 reported Tuesday.

After the 24 hours, town councils of the governorate will order the removal of the remains of the campaign at the expense of the candidates, Youm7 quoted Cairo Governor Galal al-Saeed.

The second phase of the parliamentary elections will end Monday; the High Elections Committee will announce the official results of the polling on Saturday, Youm7 reported, with run-off elections scheduled to take place in early December for districts that did not yield a simple majority candidate.
